Zac Fellows has entered an elite grouping. A resident of British Columbia, Fellows finished first in Event 21, the $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. tournament, of the 2009 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. The win, which makes him the only Canadian, thus far, to win at the 2009 WSOP, was his first at the World Series.

“It’s unbelievable. It’s surreal,” Fellows said. “Even right now, it’s not going to sink in for a couple of more days.”

Fellows, 25, behind three cashes, has now totaled $481,284 in WSOP winnings.

Gavin Smith, a native of Canada currently residing in Las Vegas, was 10th.

Several winners of past World Series tourneys cashed in Event 21, including Chau Giang (16th), Steve Billirakis (23rd), David Singer (27th), David Sklansky (40th) and Barry Greenstein (43rd).

Overall, 48 places paid.
