Brian Lemke killed two birds with one stone. A part-time pro, Lemke eliminated Fabian Quoss heads-up to win the $5,000 No-Limit hold’em tournament, Event 15, at the 2009 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. It was Lemke’s first cash at the WSOP.

“I still can’t believe this happened,” he said. “I envisioned this happening, but right now I feel like I am still … I’m sure it is going to settle in when I walk out of here.”

David Pham, who owns a pair of World Series bracelets, was 10th.

Several other players with WSOP wins on their resumes - Erik Seidel, Nenad Medic, Hasan Habib, Dan Heimiller and Kathy Liebert - cashed in Event 15.

A total of 63 places paid.
