All It Takes Is $5 and a Satellite…

By: John Wenzel

There is one thing you can say about poker online, it can make dreams come true.

If your dream is to be able to play poker every day even though you are hundreds of miles from a cardroom, you can do that.John

If your dream is to be able to hop in and out of a game quickly and cleanly, or to play very short sessions – even during lunch at work – you can do that.

If your dream is to have a wide variety of unusual poker variations to choose from at a cornucopia of limits, you have that online.

If you want to be able to observe and learn from the best in the game, you can do that too.

But most of all, you can play satellites till the sun comes up. And maybe, just maybe, you can turn that micro-level satellite into stardom. Chris Moneymaker did it. He turned $40 into a WSOP championship. Greg Raymer too. And many others have won their way into once-in-a-lifetime events thanks to a good run in Internet satellite or STEP tournaments.

And now our cover pro, Adrien “zlatan35” Allain, went for it – and got it! The Frenchman turned a $5 satellite win on PKR.com into an entry into the Asian Poker Tour Macau event, and he ended up winning the whole thing! His five dollars blossomed into a payday of almost $400,000.

“This shows you everything is possible. I believed it could happen, and so you should, too!” he said after the stunning victory. “Remember ‘zlatan35’ – it’s not the last time you’ll hear this name...”

Check out Allain’s story starting on page 38 (where you’ll hear his name a lot). Then check out our satellite listings on page 68. Pick one out and go for it!
